The latest models are hinting at the possibility of some afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Finally, many of the ingredients are there including instability, moisture, and light steering winds in the mid levels of the atmosphere. It is dry here in Nederland and across much of central, western, and southern Colorado. The latest Drought Monitor shows our area as being abnormally dry while southwestern Colorado is in extreme to exceptional drought:
We have been in such a persistently dry pattern that I will believe it when I see it, but hopefully mother nature will finally bring a dose of much needed moisture to the Front Range Foothills tomorrow afternoon. Stay tuned!
