I live in Nederland, Colorado, with my wife, two dogs and two cats. At 8200 feet in the foothills of the Colorado Front Range, we experience a wide variety of extreme weather. It is also an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise with amazing hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and camping just out of our backdoor. Winters can be long (we have measurable snowfall each month except July and August), but there is also a copious amount of sunshine. Our summers are pleasant and comfortable with no need for air conditioning.
I have a background in meteorology, hydrology and information science and worked for the National Weather Service for many years. I’m currently employed with the USGS at the National Water Quality Laboratory.
