January 2017 was both colder and snowier than normal in Nederland, Colorado. Ordinarily one of the driest months of the year, January 2017 featured:

  • 2.05 inches of liquid precipitation, 1.41 inches above the normal of 0.64 inches
  • An average temperature of 32.3 F, 3.8 degrees below the normal of 36.1 F

The highest temperatures was 49.2 F on January 19th. The lowest temperature was -9.9 F on January 5th.  The largest single day snowfall was 9.6 inches. The largest storm total snowfall was 18.1 inches on January 4th and 5th.  This is a record for January and the 8th largest snowfall since records began in July 2010.
