Our high today was 65 F degrees which is exceptionally warm for us in early November. This is the warmest election in my 11 years of records! Unseasonably mild conditions will continue in Nederland and the Front Range Foothills over the next several days. High temperatures on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be well into the 50s F, perhaps approaching 60 F!. Nighttime lows will not get below freezing.
A deep and cold storm system will enter the West Coast later this week and swing across Colorado on Sunday. This will usher in much colder air. The surface low associated with this system will pass to our north. This will result in strong downsloping Chinook winds on the east side of the Divide with a few snow showers on Sunday in Nederland and the surrounding communities. Sunday will be a windy and cold day with temperatures only in the 30sF. Monday and Tuesday will not get above freezing. It will feel more like winter, but we will still be missing snow. Except for a chance of some light snow showers on Sunday and Monday we are not looking at much precipitation.
Enjoy the warm weather!
